While the cast of Scream weren’t all given the movie’s final script, Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett assembled a killer group of familiar faces to make the slasher into a reality. Joining the trio of returning stars is another familiar face: Scream 4‘s Marley Shelton as Judy Hicks. As for the myriad newcomers, the group includes The Boys‘ Jack Quaid, 13 Reasons Why star Dylan Minnette, Jasmin Savoy Brown (The Leftovers), Jenna Ortega (You), and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood‘s Mikey Madison.
Kurt Russell has been an actor since he was a kid, but the accomplished performer has only a single writing credit to his name in all those years. While he may not be much of a writer in the grand scheme of things, it turns out he did contribute something of note to his new film, Netflix’s The Christmas Chronicles 2. Director Chris Columbus reveals that Russell wrote a single line for his on and off-screen partner Goldie Hawn. And it might be the best single line in the movie.
November 30th marked the seven year anniversary since Paul Walker’s passing, although for many it doesn’t feel nearly as long. Around this time many of the actor’s fans chose to commemorate his life and legacy, including by re-watching his professional work. In the midst of this emotional day, Walker’s daughter Meadow posted her own tribute, complete with a photo of them together. You can check it out below.
Same, though. It’s still hard to imagine a MCU without Iron Man, and the character’s death in Avengers: Endgame is one of the most heartbreaking moments in the entire franchise. And it was one that broke actress Kerry Condon’s heart while recording her role as FRIDAY. It was sad for more reasons than one, including professionally.
And certainly, Brian Herbert’s endorsement will likely make a lot of those fans breathe a sigh of relief. If you’re a big fan of Dune who has been praying that the new movie is everything that you want it to be, this is a good sign. Of course, it should be remembered that the new Dune isn’t so much the “definitive adaptation” as it is half of the definitive adaptation. One of the things that Denis Villeneuve has done in an attempt to give the massive story the necessary space is that the new movie tells only part of the story of the original novel. Of course, if the first part lives up to expectations, that’s likely a good sign for the eventual follow-up as well.
Last night, it was originally reported that Miramax’s He’s All That would be shooting at L.A.’s Union Station today (December 1) and that the location would be inaccessible to the general public. However, the heavily visited station is also in proximity of the South Patio COVID-19 testing kiosk. As a result, 504 residents who had scheduled appointments were sent emails stating that their appointments had been cancelled.
It’s some part of human nature that at this point causes most of us, when we walk past any sort of artificial body of water, a fountain, a well, or whatever, to want to make a wish and toss in a coin. When we’re at a place like Walt Disney World, that impulse is likely increased by an order of magnitude. Disney World is the place where dreams really do come true, after all. But what exactly happens to all those coins once they’ve been wished upon? As it turns out, they really do go to making people’s dreams come true. Walt Disney World just donated $20,000 to charity, with all the money coming from guests “wishes.”

The Star Wars franchise has been entertaining audiences for decades, and with Disney now in charge of Lucasfilm there’s been no indication of this slowing down. While the nine-film Skywalker Saga has ended, the narrative continues to be expanded through Disney+’s The Mandalorian. The latest episode offered a ton of backstory for Baby Yoda, and now one fan has edited the little green guy into a pivotal scene with Anakin Skywalker.
While the reason for the removal wasn’t specified, it was likely a simple pacing problem. Oftentimes, especially in the streamlined Pixar productions, anything that isn’t strictly necessary to the plot, no matter how sweet or funny or emotional, needs to go in order to keep the movie from feeling like it’s moving to too slow. Since Joe’s Neighbor likely wasn’t necessary to the plot, she simply didn’t need to be there.
The Cactus – TBA (Announced)
In addition to the aforementioned Your Place Or Mine, it was also announced at the same time, per Deadline, that Reese Witherspoon is set to star in and produce an adaptation of Sarah Haywood’s The Cactus. The upcoming streaming exclusive follows a reserved woman who’s unexpectedly pregnant at 45, causing her to restructure the life that she has created for herself and leading her into an unconventional journey towards life, love, family, and to learning to accept the unexpected.
The description certainly has an Eat, Pray, Love kind of vibe, though the source material is said to be more comedic. Nevertheless, it’s the second of two romantic comedies that Witherspoon has in store with Netflix, both as a producer and star, which will keep her on the service’s payroll for at least a few years.
Details are also slim on this project otherwise, but we should expect to hear more details about this film and Your Place Or Mine in the months ahead.
