Prince Harry Reportedly Had a Relatable Wardrobe Snafu on His Wedding Day

Typically, it’s the bride who has to worry about wardrobe malfunctions on her wedding day, but in the case of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, it was the groom who struggled with his fit.

According to Finding Freedom, the new book that keeps on giving by royal experts Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, the Duke of Sussex had a very relatable issue on his big day in May 2018…specifically when he and his new wife were riding in that fairytale-esque carriage. “Lifting her hand to her chest, Meghan had just one word when she saw the huge crowds gathered on the grounds of the castle: ‘Wow!,'” Scobie and Durand wrote, per Hello!

Wow, indeed. Unfortunately, Prince Harry wasn’t able to take in the picturesque moment with the same level of awe and enthusiasm. Per the book, “Sitting down in the carriage beside his bride, Harry laughed that his trousers were ‘too tight.'”

To be honest, for all the hoopla surrounding Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding, the former senior royals don’t seem much for pomp and circumstance. According to another excerpt from Finding Freedom, they celebrated one year of married life by having a quiet lunch with Markle’s mom, who was in town to meet a newborn Archie.

“On the anniversary of their first year of marriage, Harry and Meghan enjoyed a traditional Sunday lunch with Doria, her last meal before traveling back to L.A.,” Scobie and Durand wrote, per People. “Her five weeks at Frogmore had flown by, but she had to get back to work.”

This past May, Scobie reported for Harper’s Bazaar that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry spent their second anniversary making calls, eating tacos, and drinking margaritas. The couple “enjoyed a low-key celebration, spending part of the day looking back at their 2018 wedding with a number of people over video calls—including some of the vendors who helped bring their Windsor Castle ceremony and receptions to life,” his source claimed. “They all reminisced about what a beautiful and magical day it was.”

You know, minus the pants situation.

Jacob Elordi and Zendaya May Be Over Amid Rumors He’s Into Kaia Gerber

Jacob Elordi and Zendaya fans may be in for some serious heartbreak. The Euphoria costars and IRL couple are maybe broken up—if current rumors are to be believed.

Zendaya and Elordi have been super private about their relationship, in general, after they were spotted together on vacation in Greece in August 2019. They’ve never actually confirmed they were dating, but paparazzi caught Elordi giving her a kiss in New York City in February.

But on September 1, which also happened to be Zendaya’s 24th birthday, Elordi and Kaia Gerber were seen having dinner at Nobu in Malibu—and there may be more than just friendship happening.  “Jacob definitely has interest in dating Kaia, but there is nothing serious going on there,” a source told E! News. “They have many mutual friends and have hung out many times in the past. They both have very chill personalities and similar interests. Jacob makes Kaia laugh and her family adores him.” As for how Gerber feels, another source told E!, she “is keeping things friendly for now but there is flirtation between the two. She has told friends she is single and is only having fun and hanging out with people.”

Zendaya, unsurprisingly, hasn’t said a word about the rumors or her current relationship status, but she did thank her fans for their birthday messages. “I’m incredibly grateful for all the beautiful birthday wishes I received yesterday, feeling very very special, so thank y’all ♥️ Here’s to 24,” she wrote on Instagram, alongside an adorable throwback photo.

This isn’t the only  drama Jacob Elordi has found himself in lately. His ex Joey King reportedly called him out after he claimed he hadn’t seen their movie, The Kissing Booth 2. “Jacob watched it. He’s capping,” a now-deleted tweet read, according to Us Weekly

Guess we’ll just have to wait and see how this situation plays out.

Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez Is Finally Here: All the Details

Big things are happening for Selena Gomez. Hot on the heels of her album Rare, which came out in January, the singer announced she’d be launching Rare Beauty, a makeup brand with a deeper meaning.

On Tuesday, February 4, Gomez posted a video to her Instagram page announcing the new venture: “Guys, I’ve been working on this special project for two years and can officially say Rare Beauty is launching in @sephora stores in North America this summer! Follow @rarebeauty and become part of our beautiful community. Here’s a tiny sneak. There’s more to share AND I can’t wait,” she shared in the caption.

Since then Sel stans have been patiently waiting for details, and finally—after much speculation—Rare Beauty is finally available to shop at Sephora and the brand’s website. Here’s everything you need to know.

What does Rare Beauty stand for?

The line is called Rare Beauty, which mirrors the name of Gomez’s recent album. She’s referred to the album as her diary from the past few years, and many of the lyrics are speculated to be about her relationship with Justin Bieber.

When is Rare Beauty launching?

In her original video, Gomez shared that Rare Beauty would be launching in summer 2020, but in an Instagram post shared in early August, she revealed the brand would be available starting September 3—so you can officially add everything to cart now.

Where can you buy Rare Beauty?

Good news: You’ll be able to pick up Rare Beauty at Sephora with all your other beauty essentials, as well as online at RareBeauty.com.

What makes Rare Beauty different from other brands?

The brand is all about embracing inner beauty, as much as it about self-expression. “Being rare is about being comfortable with yourself,” she said in the teaser for the brand’s release, which you can watch above. “I’ve stopped trying to be perfect. I just want to be me. I think Rare Beauty can be more than a beauty brand. I want us all to stop comparing ourselves to each other and start embracing our uniqueness. You’re not defined by a photo, a like, or a comment. Rare Beauty isn’t about how other people see you. It’s about how you see yourself.”

In an interview with Allure published on August 31, Gomez added: “Beauty doesn’t have to be defined by a like or a comment, or your body. The whole time we were creating [Rare Beauty], we were always under the notion that this was going to be also about mental health and creating a safe place for people to connect.“

What products does Rare Beauty include?

In a conversation with Interview magazine published on April 13, Gomez revealed a few more details about the products themselves, which she calls “clean and easy.” The biggest news is she has launched 48 shades of foundation and concealer, plus a “mascara that doesn’t clump,” at the request of Amy Schumer, who was conducting the interview.

Rare Beauty features 12 formulas, 100-plus shades, and three tools. The launch includes the Always An Optimist Illuminating Primer, Liquid Touch Weightless Foundation, Liquid Touch Brightening Concealer, the Soft Pinch Liquid Blush, the With Gratitude Dewy Lip Balm, the Lip Souffle Matte Lip Cream, the Positive Light Liquid Luminizer, Brow Harmony Pencil & Gel, and the Perfect Strokes Matte Liquid Liner.

What Liam Hemsworth’s New Girlfriend Reportedly Thinks About His Past With Miley Cyrus

Liam Hemsworth has moved on from his marriage to Miley Cyrus and appears to be quite happy with his new girlfriend, Australian model Gabriella Brooks.

We just got some new (reported) details on how the couple’s relationship is going. “Liam and Gabriella are going strong and have been quarantining together and enjoying their time in Byron Bay,” a source told Us Weekly. “Liam has some movie projects coming up and is happy to be living in Australia and being able to spend his downtime with Gabriella.”

And apparently, Brooks is super secure in her relationship with Hemsworth.  “They’re both secure in their relationship and Gabriella isn’t worried that Liam has any lingering feelings for Miley and isn’t intimidated by their relationship,” The source who spoke to  Us Weekly continued. “Liam and Gabriella are really close and feel comfortable with one another. They connect over important topics and share the same values about family and life.”

Liam Hemsworth and Gabriella Brooks were first linked to each other back in December 2019 and were spotted kissing in January. (He and Cyrus announced their breakup in August 2019.)

In April, a source told Entertainment Tonight, “While Liam’s family has been a huge support since the breakup with Miley, it was Gabriella who made him realize there is life after Miley. Gabriella is quiet, low-key. She loves to be alone with Liam and isn’t seeking attention from others.”

Cyrus recently talked to Joe Rogan about her divorce from Hemsworth. “What really sucked about it wasn’t the fact that me and someone that I loved realized that we don’t love each other the way that we used to anymore,” she said. “That’s okay, I can accept that. I can’t accept the villainizing and just all those stories.”

At least everyone seems happy with where their lives are currently, right?

Tatcha Sale 2020: Labor Day Deals on The Water Cream, The Essence, & More

ICYMI, Meghan Markle has great skin. Envious, and wondering how you could? In addition to regular face massages and good genes, a stacked skin-care routine is to thank for the duchess’s signature luminous glow.

The hero product in her routine is Tatcha’s Rice Polish Foaming Enzyme Powder, and now it’s easier to get one step closer to Markle’s glow because the brand just announced one of its biggest sales of the year: the Tatcha Labor Day Sale. From September 3 through September 8, you can get 25% off select items and skincare duos—including cult-loved products The Water Cream and The Essence. A Tatcha sale doesn’t happen often, so when one does, it’s worth stocking up before products sell out.

As for that skin-care staple of Markle’s, the exfoliator in question is the rare scrub you can use every day without messing up your skin. Because while other scrubs typically rely on ground-up shell powder or mild acids to clear off your dead skin, Tatcha’s formula uses a gentle combination of extra-fine rice bran and papaya enzymes. Per Markle, “It just sort of foams on your face and gives you a really subtle exfoliation.” That foam forms when water has activated the scrub and then comes for dullness, leaving nothing but smooth skin behind. You can get it for less today when you buy Tatcha’s Mini Bestsellers Set on sale for $88 (normally a $110 value!).

If you’re looking for more top-shelf inspo, Markle’s makeup artist and longtime friend, Daniel Martin, swears by The Silk Canvas for its skin-priming abilities. The brand is also responsible for two frequent Sephora best-sellers. Year after year, Tatcha’s Water Cream is one of the retailer’s best-selling moisturizers, unsurprising given its oil-free gel texture. Heaviness isn’t in the Tatcha lexicon; the moisturizer sinks into your skin in two seconds flat, yet it keeps your skin hydrated for hours. Similarly lightweight is the brand’s undereye cream and concealer hybrid, The Pearl, which has a pearlized formula that reflects light as it lays down hyaluronic acid and brightening niacinamide. The best part? All of these much-loved Tatcha products are on sale through the Labor Day Weekend

This Is Antoni Porowski’s Favorite Easy Late Summer Recipe

When Queer Eye first premiered, fans made fun of Porowski, whose role on the show is to teach adult men with identifiable meals in their beards how to make edible, elegant food. Critics claimed that Porowski, who leans towards simple dishes and fresh ingredients, wasn’t really cooking. Now, with hundreds of millions of people making most of their meals at home every day, does he feel like he’s getting the last laugh?

“With quarantine, some people have more time on their hands and they’re making different kinds of breads,” he says, politely refusing to dunk on people during a national emergency. “But at the same time, we have to eat every day! Even though I’m zero percent Italian according to 23AndMe—I was very disappointed to find that out—if you look at Italian cuisine it’s so great because it’s so incredibly simple. The best things are just three or four ingredients.  It’s about learning how to treat them and how to use them properly.”

The Queer Eye star says he’s been enjoying the simple things this summer—a perfect peach, soft scrambled eggs, his foster dog, Neon.

A few days after our conversation, he posted a video of himself making those five-ingredient soft scrambled eggs (“literally just eggs, water, a tiny little dab of butter or olive oil, really good salt, and a lot of fresh cracked pepper”) for Martha Stewart herself. You know how it is. Simple.

Antoni’s Grilled Peach and Tomato Salad with Crunchy Almonds

Serves 4

1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil, plus more for the grill

3 medium firm-ripe yellow or white peaches (about 1¼ pounds), cut into ¾-inch-thick wedges

¼ cup loosely packed fresh basil leaves

2 medium tomatoes (any color or variety; about 1 pound), cut into ¾-inch-thick wedges

Flaky sea salt, such as Maldon

1 teaspoon champagne vinegar or white wine vinegar

2- to 3-ounce hunk of Parmigiano-Reggiano

¼ cup roasted salted almonds, preferably Marcona, coarsely chopped

1. Heat a gas or charcoal grill to medium-high or heat a grill pan over medium-high heat. (On a charcoal grill, most of the coals should be covered with white ash, and you should be able to hold your palm an inch or two above the cooking grate for no more than 2 to 3 seconds.) Lightly oil the grill grate.

2. Grill the peaches cut side down until nicely charred, 1 to 2 minutes, then turn and grill until lightly charred on the second cut side, another 1 minute or so. Transfer to a plate and let cool to room temperature.

3. Meanwhile, stack the basil leaves on top of each other, tightly roll up lengthwise, and slice crosswise into thin ribbons.

4. Arrange the peach and tomato wedges on a serving platter, alternating them in any sort of pattern you like (circles or rows). Top with several pinches of flaky salt, then drizzle with the oil and vinegar. Shave the cheese over the top, then sprinkle with the basil and almonds.

Tip: The peaches should be firm but ripe. Grilling them releases their juices, but they should have a bit of juice in them at the outset to get the ball rolling.

In our column That Thing I Always Cook, creators you admire—chefs, designers, actors, reality stars, influencers, and more—offer up the story behind their favorite recipe, along with how to make it yourself—something we could all use right about now. Read them all here.

‘Dear Evan Hansen’ Movie: Everything We Know So Far

Dear Evan Hansen, the hit Broadway musical, is coming to the big screen.

The original show, with music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, tells the story of an awkward high schooler who gets caught up in a lie after telling people he was best friends with a fellow student who dies by suicide. It’s an emotional and socially relevant story that is now being adapted as a film.

The musical won several Tony Awards, including one for Ben Platt in the titular role, Best Musical, Best Original Score, and Best Direction. It was still running and (typically sold out) on Broadway until shows were shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Here’s everything we know so far about the Dear Evan Hansen movie.

The cast. Ben Platt will reprise his role of Evan (which he originated on Broadway), and he will be joined by a hugely talented group of actors. The Hollywood Reporter says that Julianne Moore will star as Platt’s mother, Heidi Hansen. Kaitlyn Dever will play Evan’s crush, Zoe, and Colton Ryan will play Connor, the teen who dies by suicide, while Amy Adams will play his mother. This will be Moore and Adams’s second time working together. The two paired up for the thriller film The Woman in the Window, which will premiere on Netflix in the near future. (It was supposed to have a theatrical release in May 2020, but there have been several delays. We can’t wait to see them in both these projects.)

The creative team. Steven Chobsky is attached to direct, and Steven Levenson, who wrote the book for the musical, is writing the screenplay. Pasek and Paul are returning to do the music, as well.

The premiere date. The movie hasn’t begun filming yet, so a release date is not yet known.

Michelle Obama Just Offered Up Some Great Relationship Advice

If I had my way, Michelle Obama would guide me through every decision in life—both big and small. Since that’s unlikely to happen, I must simply rely on The Michelle Obama Podcast for her sage advice and commentary on everything from friendship and aging to how to pick a good partner to spend your life with. And I’d say the former First Lady is coming from a knowledgable place, considering the strength of her own relationship with Barack Obama.

On the most recent episode, Obama spoke with Conan O’Brien, and the topic of relationships came up. When he said he felt like men are ready for marriage, emotionally and intellectually, later in life, Obama agreed. “The same is true for me,” she said. “I think a man’s inclination to wait and to kind of go out there and search and get himself ready, I think is a good instinct that more young women should think about.”

She also compared picking a partner to “picking your basketball team.” Stick with me here, because Obama makes a very good point, in my opinion.

“Because if you’re looking at a team, the people you want to win with, then number one, you want everybody on your team to be strong,” she said. “You don’t want any weak links. You don’t want somebody that you can dominate. You don’t want somebody who’s kind of a loser, right? And also, if you’re on a team, you’ve got to be able to do everything, especially in basketball. It’s like, you would never pick somebody that says, ‘I only dribble. I don’t shoot. I don’t defend. I just dribble.'”

She continued, “If we looked at marriage as a real team, you want your teammate to be a winner. You want LeBron, you know?”

She acknowledges, however, that the whole process isn’t easy. “People aren’t perfect. Marriage is hard. It’s a struggle for everyone,” Obama said. “But the question you have to ask is do you want to spend this life with somebody? Do you want to build something with someone? And there’s no magic way to make that happen.”

She continued, “There’s work and practice that goes into [deciding,] ‘I’m going to get off the apps, and I’m going to actually ask this girl out, and I’m going to take her out for a few months. I’m going to invest in this other person.’ Because that’s what dating is. You can’t Tinder your way into a long-term relationship.”

Noted, Mrs. Obama. Noted. Thank you for your wise words once again.

The Women of the WNBA Are Leading the Way for Activism In Sports—And Have Been for Years

When the Washington Mystics became the first WNBA team to forfeit their game in protest of the police shooting of Jacob Blake, a Black man in Kenosha, Wisconsin, the team’s star point guard Natasha Cloud was cheering from her home in Philadelphia. She, like many other WNBA players, opted out of playing this season to focus on fighting for racial justice. There was a lot on the line—including her salary and a newly signed endorsement deal with Converse. “I was okay with that because, at the end of the day when we take those uniforms off, when I take that Mystics shirt off,” Cloud says, “I’m a Black woman.”

Last week the WNBA joined the NBA as the second sports organization to cancel their games in order to call attention to racial injustice after Blake was shot. But in the wave of (rightful) praise for NBA players, one thing got overlooked: The women of the WNBA have been using their platform to advocate for equality for years.

Over two thirds of WNBA players are Black women, according to a 2019 report from the Institute for Diversity and Ethics in Sport—it’s no surprise the Black Lives Matter movement is close to the heart of the league. Before the start of this season, the players formed a Social Justice Council and partnered with the Say Her Name campaign to dedicate their season to Breonna Taylor. At the start of the season, the New York Liberty and Seattle Storm observed 26 seconds of silence to honor Taylor’s age, and players across the league have been wearing jerseys honoring Black women victims.

“We’ve been at the forefront of multiple [equality] issues, at the center of anything that matters to diverse groups of people. It’s sort of like just allowing the rest of society to catch up and discover what makes us amazing women, what makes our brand of basketball unique and special,” Chiney Ogwumike, a forward and center for the Los Angeles Sparks and vice president for the WNBA Players’ Association told Glamour in 2019.

Leading the Charge

Before the coronavirus threw the WNBA season’s start into question, the players were celebrating a historic collective bargaining agreement which guaranteed them better pay, paid maternity leave, and improved conditions on the road.

As plans for the season began to take shape, another rash of police killings of Black women and men created another cry for change. Cloud organized the Together We Stand march in Washington, D.C., on Juneteenth. She led a group of her teammates, NBA players, coaches, and staff from the Washington Wizards on a two-mile walk from the Capital One Arena to the Martin Luther King, Jr. statue and memorial site.
